The Girl Scout Council of the Congaree Area, Inc. serves more than 4,600 girl members ages 5-17 in an eight county area. Today’s Girl Scouts are tomorrow’s involved citizens and leaders. For over 50 years, we have provided an environment to help build self-confidence, develop leadership skills, strengthen character and feel a sense of belonging while experiencing fun and adventure. Although we thankfully receive funds from the United Way and other public support, these funds account for only a small portion of our budget. In an effort to diversify our funding and depend less on proceeds from the cookie sale, we are asking for contributions from the community, big and small, to cover other programs.
